Meet the team

Gary Bjerring
Born and brought up on a coastal Coromandel farm, Gary left school to work in aircraft engineering, later becoming a design draftsman in aircraft, electronics, heavy engineering and building construction. An extended period of wilderness exploration and travel combined with an introduction to landscape construction evolved a passion in adventurous landscape creations. Installations are based on design elements, natural resources and master artisan works that have been developed and refined over the decades and are pieced together to suit individuals and environments. Gary has an extensive portfolio of award winning exhibition landscaping and heritage quality work which is heavily influenced by his passion for rock, stone, water, fire and native plantings.
Henriette Bjerring
Managing Director
Having managed the business from it's infancy to what it is today has been an ongoing learning curve of growth and development. Completing her business studies certainly helped cement these new learnings. It was of a suprise to discovery that business management was actually quite rewarding. Henriette also has an artistic talent and enjoys painting landscape scenes as a little side business and as a way to relax and be creative.
Vanessa Hedges
Landscape Architect
Raised in the idyllic rural town of Warkworth, Vanessa’s passion for construction and all things creative developed from a young age. Inspired by winning Gold as a student at the Ellerslie Flower Show for three consecutive years, a love of the outdoors and visionary design shaped a career in Landscape Architecture. Vanessa has a proven background as a landscape architect producing high end contemporary installations for residential, amenity and commercial property. Each project is approached as a unique collection of influences within its environment. Vanessa’s friendly, honest, and professional approach with clients and associate’s forms on going relationships within the industry.
Jordan Hicks
Project Coordinator/Landscape Installer
Born and bred in Matamata, Waikato, Jordan was brought up on his family’s dairy farm, where he developed a love for nature and wildlife conservation. After leaving school, Jordan furthered his education obtaining a Post-Graduate Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science. Whist studying, Jordan found summer work at The Hobbiton Movie Set, which enabled him to develop a love for stone and wood work. Jordan’s work ethic and passion for the team, has quickly evolved through his desire to learn the new role of project co-coordinator and Landscape Installer. Jordan is friendly, hardworking and committed member of our team.
Ben Hobson
Senior Landscape Installer
Grew up in Christchurch, qualified in level 4 landscaping; Bens skills and passion enables him to have a fine eye for detail. He has worked on numerous jobs from being the apprentice learning off others, to being a lead hand allowing him to fine tune his skills. He is now ready to take on the mighty Waikato with Wild Exposure to make people's dream landscapes become a reality. Day to day he is working hard to create artistic landscapes for every customer and will always ensure you get the best results. Spends his free time winding in the fish that just broke off, is a Netflix nutter and enjoys his Thai kickboxing. Ben is an enthusiastic and driven person and always enjoys a good laugh.
Muzza Handley
Master Sculptor
Muzza has worked for Wild Exposure in varying capacities for over 20 years; first as a creative landscape intaller, then in later years as a master sculptor and stonemason. He lives on a certified organic farm and bush block on the southern slopes of Mount Pirongia in a hand built eco style home and generates most of his own electricity on site. A true campaigner for sustainability, biodiversity and lives his passion and philosophy in real time. His stonework and sculpture exude his understanding for natural history, originality and timelessness and his techniques show his true grit and determination. Muzza’s creations bring true life to stone, his artisan works worthy of memorial, heirloom monument and heritage status, suitable for private collectors, corporate and public exhibition
